One of the North's great success stories, Mastermix will be exhibiting this year, they are always producing fantastic cd's and dvds that soon become the weapons of choice for professional dj's across the UK if not the world. Their new professional range is fast introducing a whole new generation of dj's to their catalogue.

But what do you keep all these cd's in?

Slappa cases of course ! They will be also exhibiting this years with a plethora of ways to store and transport your media. Plus a new ranges of cases designed specifically with the digital and laptop dj in mind.

I can't keep secrets for long! So yes its true Pioneer will be exhibiting at this years DJ Show North, they've launched product before on other exhibitors stands, like the DVJ-1000 at our 2006 show, but this year they'll be there in there own right.

They've some fantastic kit to show this year and you be able to get "hands on" with most of it.

Its fantastic to have them on board.

Big Announcement On The Way

We've a big announcement to make this week about a new exhibitor making there début with us this year, well as an individual exhibitor anyway. They've had a product launch at DJ Show North before but on another exhibitors stand, so this year they've got their own stand.

Pro Audio Imports will be at DJ Show North

Joining us again will be the guys from Pro Audio Imports, who will be hopefully be bringing along the Professional Intimidation range of speakers that have to be heard to be believed (sound level meters at the ready !), as well as the Kool range of sound and lighting products.

Bose will also be attending this year as the popularity of the L1 system grows and grows, no more bad backs from lifting those 18" cabs when the "mighty pole" (oooer) can do the lot!

DJ Show North at the NADJ AGM

DJ Show North will be exhibiting at the forthcoming NADJ AGM this Sunday at the Motorcycle Museum in Birmingham, we hope to meet as many of you as possible and so if you've any queries about the show we'll be on hand to answer any questions or just share a beer !

We team up once again with Nordoff Robbins

After our massive success last year raising money for music therapy, we decided a rematch was in order and so this year a pound from every ticket sold (either on the day or by preregistration) will be donated to our friends at Nordoff Robbins to help support their work transforming lives through music.
Every paying attendee will receive a "play music" wristband to show they've supported this very worthy cause, but don't worry you trade visitors, theses fetching wristbands will be available to purchase on the day for you non-payers!

Denon buys Allen & Heath

From the press release:
Tokyo, Japan, April 2, 2008 -- D&M Holdings Inc. (TSE 1:6735) announced
today the completion of the acquisition of Allen & Heath Holdings Limited of
Penryn, Cornwall, England, a leading designer and manufacturer of audio
mixing consoles for professional sound engineers, live sound installations
and DJs. The acquisition will be accretive to earnings per share in FY2008.

"The acquisition of Allen & Heath is a strong complement to our Calrec and

We've been in Frankfurt this week at Musikmesse, this trade show is the biggest in the world with 10 exhibition halls each one almost the size of Earls Court, some nice new kit on show but just too much for us to take in in just 3 days !

Aims for this year

People have been asking/rumouring if we've changed our aims and goals for this year, but to be honest they've always stayed the same for DJ Show North. To provide the best consumer focussed exhibition for the disco industry, and to be fair, if we do that it benefits everyone.

The dealers, that support and help us in promoting the show each year, are happy as it's their customers attending, seeing new kit and hopefully ordering from them, the manufacturers are happy as product awareness is increased and their dealers are happy as more people are wanting their kit !!

So we're not turning into a huge bring&buy/market, or only inviting dealers.

As always everyone is welcome to come and join us, be you a dj, band member, karaoke jock, dealer/retailer or just interested !!

Twice "best stand in show" exhibitor, Pro Light Concepts will be exhibiting many new LED effects building upon the success of the ImpossibLED and MarveLED launched at last years show.
There will be all the usual equipment give-aways mixed up with the now legendary Pro light antics !!

Well first past the post, and having first pick of this year's stands, are American DJ. They'll be bringing their range of lighting, including all the fantastic new LED range, as well as American Audio's range of mixers and players and more !

New Venue Confirmed For 2008

Well you've waited long enough, we're moving this years show to the newest exhibition venue in Leeds. Saviles Hall at the Royal Armouries was opened last year by the grandfather of mobile dj'ing Sir Jimmy Savile and is a fantastic venue right in the heart of the centre of Leeds.

Back from PLASA! (bit late I know!)

Finally got round to doing the update! Well PLASA seems to be doing it's best to drive the DJ manufacturer out, with lots of theatrical, tv and film kit. Numark were the only ones with anything relevant to see, especially the new IDJ2 (pics to follow).

We also used our trip to the smoke to visit the Nordoff Robbins Offices to present them with a cheque for £1564, they were over the moon and we've promised to do more fund-raising for them in the future.
